I’m a speaker, guide, coach, and writer focused on the intersections of faith and life, of meaning and culture, of love and loneliness. I explore how spirituality is at the heart of wholeness and reconciliation, how to live with meaning, purpose, and joy, and how to lead ethically and effectively.
I have varied experiences as a leader of congregations and other organizations, as a university and divinity school professor, and as a guide and coach. I have a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Candler School of Theology of Emory University, a program which included a clinical internship.
I also live with an incurable, but presently manageable, illness
which has forced me to come to terms with limits and the illusion of control, to seek meaningful responses to suffering and the questions it raises, and to reflect on the ethics of healthcare and end-of-life-issues. If you’re interested in some of my reflections on my experience with cancer, you can find them at www.caringbridge.org/visit/guysayles
